My former mother-in-law once told me, “Larry, I’m an old lady, and I can say whatever I want!” I don’t consider myself an old man, but here goes. I’m saying that Durango doesn’t need to spend possibly hundreds of thousands of dollars to come up with a new logo.
The City Council has enough on its plate providing us citizens with a safe and affordable place to live. That includes making sure we have the utilities and services we need to get by on a daily basis, and keeping infrastructure in good repair.
And speaking of infrastructure, a letter writer on Sept. 10 was spot on with her solution to fix Malfunction Junction. In case you’re not familiar with that name, it is the one given to the intersection of Third Avenue, Florida Road and 15th Street. Go back and read the letter.
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Our city logo ain’t broke. Don't fix it. That intersection is. Fix it, with the common sense solution proposed in that letter. But sometimes sense ain’t so common.
