The city of Durango announces its schedule of services for the Christmas holiday.
City administrative offices will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday. This includes City Hall, River City Hall, Police Station and Substation, Transit Center, Greenmount Cemetery and Parks and Recreation administrative offices.
The Durango Community Recreation Center will be open from 5:30 a.m. to noon Tuesday. Aquatics areas will close at 11:30 a.m. The recreation center will be closed Wednesday.
Chapman Hill Ice Rink will be open for public skate from 11:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. and 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday. It will be closed Wednesday.
Chapman Ski Hill will be open from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday and will be closed Wednesday.
Durango Gymnastics will be closed for classes and gym rentals Monday through Jan. 5. Classes will resume Jan. 6. For the drop-in schedule, call 375-7390.
The Durango Public Library main library will close at 5:30 p.m. Monday. The library will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Fort Lewis Mesa and Sunnyside branches will be closed Monday through Jan. 3 in conjunction with the Durango School District 9-R winter break.
Durango-La Plata County Airport will be open with regularly scheduled commercial service Tuesday and Wednesday. Travelers are encouraged to arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes before scheduled departure. Airport administrative offices will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
Durango Transit will not operate Tuesday and Wednesday. The Transit Center will also be closed. The Fort Lewis College Morning Commuter Shuttle will not operate through Jan. 6 in conjunction with FLC’s winter break.
Parking at meters downtown will be free Wednesday.
There will be no commercial or residential trash or recycling service Wednesday. Wednesday residential and commercial trash and recycling will be picked up Thursday.
The Recycle Center will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday and will reopen from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday.
