The city of Durango has announced its schedule for Friday, July 3. Because of staff furloughs, some offices may also be closed Thursday, July 2. Before visiting, call 375-5000.
The city’s Friday, July 3 schedule:
City administrative offices will be closed, including City Hall, River City Hall, Police Station and Substation, Transit Center, Greenmount Cemetery and the Parks and Recreation administrative offices. Parks and Recreation: The Community Recreation Center, Chapman Hill and Durango Gymnastics will be closed. Lake Nighthorse Recreation Area will be open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.The Durango – La Plata County Airport administrative offices will be closed. The airport will operate normal with commercial flights arriving and departing as scheduled.Durango Public Library will be closed Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4.Commercial and residential trash and recycling pickup will occur as scheduled Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4. The Recycle Center will be closed Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4.Durango Transit Service will not operate Saturday, July 4. The Transit Center and cashier window will be closed.Parking at meters is free downtown Friday, July 3.
