City of Durango announces weed abatement scheduled in October

The city of Durango has contracted with Scott’s Pro-Lawn to complete application for noxious weed abatement in the turf grass at Smith Sports Complex, and Horizon Environmental Services will complete the application for broadleaf weed control along the north extension of the Animas River Trail and at Oxbow Park.

The weed control is repeatedly tested and approved by the Environmental Protection Agency, and both Scott’s Pro-Lawn and Horizon Environmental Services are licensed by the Colorado Department of Agriculture. Application of herbicide will be conducted:

Friday: Along the Animas River Trail from 36th Street to Oxbow Park and at Oxbow Park.Monday and Tuesday: Smith Sports Complex.Dates are subject to change based on weather conditions. Vehicles and equipment will be on the Animas River Trail during the scheduled broadleaf weed treatment.
