City of Durango changes fertilization, weed abatement schedule

The city of Durango has contracted with Scott’s Pro-Lawn for turf fertilization and noxious weed abatement. Dates are subject to change based on weather conditions.

The herbicide used is called Vessel Broadleaf Herbicide and Q4 Turf Herbicide. Applications improve the quality of rights-of-way, parks and open spaces in the city’s system. The weed control is repeatedly tested and approved by the Environmental Protection Agency, and Scott’s Pro-Lawn is licensed by the Colorado Department of Agriculture.

The spray schedule, which has been amended, is as follows:

Wednesday: East Third Avenue Parkway, Fassbinder Park and the common turf area at Durango Softball at Fort Lewis College.May 11: Greenmount Cemetery.For more information, contact the Park Maintenance Division at 375-7380.
