My wife and I walk our dogs daily. Sometimes on city street sidewalks, sometimes on the river trail, north, south and through town.
In our opinion, the city made a huge mistake when it allowed E-bikes on the river trail. The city of Durango should change course and not allow E-bikes on the river trail. We are tired of being slalom poles for the speeding E-bikes.
Recently, we witnessed an E-biker swerve around walkers with dogs – and children – at high speed, probably in excess of 30 mph behind Durango High School. If I, my wife or dogs are ever hurt by a speeding E-biker, we will sue the city, because if they do not crash, there is no way of proving who that E-biker was to sue them.
