The city of Durango has officially renamed Santa Rita Drive to Larry Valdez Way.
Larry Valdez was a longtime Durango resident and veteran of the Vietnam War.
The authorizing ordinance became effective April 26. The Colorado Department of Transportation installed new street signs May 29.
