City of Durango seeks volunteers

Durango City Council seeks volunteers to serve on either the Strategy and Long-term Finance Advisory Board or the Community Corrections Board.

The Strategy and Long-term Finance Advisory Board has five vacancies and focuses on financial and other issues that impact Durango’s economy, providing analysis on financial trends, risks and opportunities and reporting to the city council.

The Community Corrections Board has one vacancy. The Colorado Legislature established a Community Corrections Program of intensive counseling and community treatment for offenders that includes a monitored program of educational, vocational and social release. The members of the Community Corrections Board screen referrals for placement and have the authority to contract for residential and nonresidential services.

Boards and commissions generally meet on a monthly basis. For more information or to apply, visit www.DurangoGov.org/boards. Applications are due by 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. Brief interviews with applicants will be scheduled in November.
