City of Durango seeks volunteers on the Community Corrections Board

The Durango City Council is seeking volunteers to serve on the Community Corrections Board.

The Legislature authorized the creation of a community corrections program of intensive counseling and community treatment including a monitored program of educational, vocational and social release. The members of this board have the authority to contract for residential and nonresidential services as well as screen referrals for placement.

The city’s boards and commissions generally meet on a monthly basis. Applications are due by 4:30 p.m. Sunday. The City Council will schedule brief interviews with applicants in early November.
