The city of Farmington’s emergency management team met to discuss statements made at the governor’s emergency declaration press conference and determine its next steps.
“The community’s safety is our top priority, and we are working closely with partnering organizations (San Juan County Office of Emergency Management, San Juan Regional Medical Center and Farmington Municipal Schools) to facilitate appropriate actions,” said City Manager Rob Mayes. “All city facilities remain open at this time pending clarifying direction from corresponding state agencies regarding the governor’s statements.”
The city is postponing the Gridiron Glory: The Best of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Kick-off Party scheduled for Friday. This decision was made with respect to timely notification to event vendors and attendees.
The exhibit and the museum will remain open to visitors, as social distancing can easily be maintained in the facility. Future events will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis with notification provided as early as possible.
