The city of Durango now requires that people obtaining a building permit for remodel or addition projects also have, if applicable, a state of Colorado demolition permit and/or asbestos testing.
The testing must be conducted by a licensed tester approved by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
Demolition permits from the city of Durango building division, in addition to the above state requirements, continue to be required for full structure demolitions.
