You may know how long those of us who make a daily trip to the post office have looked at this (see photo) in bewilderment. It has been far longer than “reasonable” in anyone’s stretch of the imagination. What is worse is the “uncaring” attitude it communicates to everyone, including visitors to Durango about how we feel about our community when something like this is allowed to go on as long as it has.
Perhaps that the disrepair belongs to a branch of the federal government known for poor fiscal responsibility is being used as rationale for leaving it in disrepair? That’s not a good enough reason because it is a reflection of the culture of Durango.
If the city of Durango has not intervened in behalf of its own appearance, then shouldn’t it?
