Claims about immigrants are baseless

Part of my professional responsibility used to be to monitor large amounts of criminological data. There are laws ensuring that Mike Sigman’s claim (Letters, Herald, July 14) that Democrats are trying to hide that data is highly unlikely.

Secondly, ostensibly, a U.S. border agent told Sigman that Democrats were complicit in hiding data fearing that they would be exposed. Unless Sigman can document such a claim, I tentatively regard his claim as being based on paranoid right-wing ideation.

Further, to also claim that “U.S. citizenry are being murdered, raped and robbed without being reported” is not substantiated by any data, either recorded or anecdotal, to which I am or have ever been privy.
