The Herald’s Sept. 29 coverage of the National EV Drive event at the fairgrounds was very well done.
I was quoted in the article but would like to clarify an easy, but incorrect inference from my statements. I said that charging my EV took around four hours, and I mentioned that traveling longer distances, such as to Denver, would require patience while recharging. It would be easy to infer that driving to Denver would require waiting four hours for charging, which is not true.
The charger at our house is a Level 2 charger (240 volts) and does require four hours to recharge the car. Chargers used when we travel are DC fast chargers (480 volts) and only require about 45 minutes to fully charge the car. Just enough time for a nice lunch.
