Sometimes it can be a dog-eat-dog world out there.
The La Plata County Humane Society is sponsoring a free event that hopes to educate owners on avoiding potential dangers at dog parks.
The presentation, given by Sue Sternberg, will take place at the Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Ave., from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
