I heartily support Cleave Simpson for reelection to the Colorado State Senate. I have known Cleave for many years, and he will represent the Western Slope and other southern Colorado communities better than anyone else I know. His knowledge and deep understanding of the issues facing our rural counties are of utmost importance in addressing these unique needs. Cleave is an engineer and farmer whose life has been steeped in water. As manager of the Rio Grande Water Conservation District, he knows the many issues faced by our communities in protecting our water from others who would export it to the cities over the mountains.
As a state senator, he has crossed the aisle and worked successfully on many bipartisan issues and is always willing to work with those who support our rural needs. He has worked hard to bring better health care to rural Colorado. Cleave has a strong record of supporting agriculture, education and other issues affecting our communities at a time when rural voices are a minority in the state Legislature.
