Air ambulance called to transport man

A climber was seriously injured Friday afternoon after falling 30 feet in Cascade Falls, according to La Plata County Search and Rescue.

The man fell about 1:30 p.m., and crews were getting ready to extract him from the canyon about 2:30 p.m., said Ron Corkish, president of La Plata County Search and Rescue.

The emergency responders called in an air ambulance to transport the man for medical care, he said.

La Plata County Search and Rescue was assisting other agencies at the scene, Corkish said.
