Durangoan Colby Simmons of Team Jumbo-Visma wrapped up the youth classification title at the Tour de Slovaquie on Sunday.

Simmons, 19, finished the five-stage, 820.7-kilometer race in 18 hours, 34 minutes and 22 seconds, finishing just five seconds ahead of Javier Serrano of EOLO-Kometa to win the white jersey.

Simmons also finished 19th in the general classification, 5:52 after the winner, Remi Cavagna of Soudal Quick Step.

After finishing 18th overall on the first stage, Simmons was awarded the white jersey and he never let it go. Simmons was part of a sprint for the win on Stage 2, but ended and ended up crossing third behind Tim Merlier of Soudal Quick Step.

Simmons then finished 14th on Stage 3, sixth on Stage 4 and seventh on Stage 5 – ahead of Serrano on each – to win the youth class.

Team Jumbo-Visma also won the polka dot jersey in the tour, with Milan Vader scoring 34 points on the climbs to finish on top. Vader was Jumbo-Visma’s top GC rider, finishing fourth overall, 2:23 behind Cavagna but only two seconds behind Mulu Kinife Hailemichael of Caja Rural – Seguros RGA and three seconds after Stefan Kung of Groupama – FDJ.

As a team, Jumbo-Visma finished second out of 18 squads behind Soudal – Quick Step.
