BOULDER – A Colorado court has dismissed all legal claims filed by Boulder County against an oil and gas drill company.
The Daily Camera reported Monday that Boulder County District Court dismissed the 2018 claims against Crestone Peak Resources.
County officials said the mineral rights leases the company was using to establish its right to drill had expired or been violated.
County officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Company officials said the county sued just days before they were to receive state approval for its drilling plans in an attempt to stop them from drilling 100 wells north of Erie.
Officials said plans could bring $398 million in tax benefits to the public, including about $100 million to Boulder County and more than $240 million to local schools.
