DENVER – While 24 bills were scheduled for second reading Friday before the Colorado House of Representatives and Senate, all but four were laid over until Monday as part of Military Appreciation Day at the state Capitol.
As part of Friday’s proceedings, several bipartisan resolutions were read aloud at length before members of both chambers unanimously passed them and forwarded them to the Senate for consideration on Monday.
Included in the resolutions was legislation that recognized the impact of the armed forces and defense industry on Colorado, and others that recognized various anniversaries of military events and organizations.
After the passage of the resolutions, senators and representatives shared personal stories of how their lives had been affected by America’s military and thanked servicemen and -women in attendance.
