Colorado Mines sweeps top honors

Skyhawks were picked to finish 7th in the RMAC men’s golf preseason poll

The Fort Lewis College golf team was picked seventh when the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference released its men’s golf poll Thursday.

The Skyhawks finished three points shy of sixth-place Colorado Christian. Colorado Mines earned four first-place votes and the top spot in the poll. CSU-Pueblo was second, followed by UC-Colorado Springs in third and a tie for fourth between Western New Mexico and Colorado Mesa.

Regis was picked eighth and Adams State ninth out of nine teams.

Senior golfer Michael Lee of Colorado Mines was tabbed the league’s preseason Golfer of the Year after earning the postseason honor and an honorable mention All-American selection as a junior.

Lee, teammate Jordan Arndt, Mesa’s Sean Robbins, CSUP’s Matt Porter and CCU’s Minkyu Jean were named to the preseason all-conference squad.
