The Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission will hold a stakeholder outreach meeting from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the La Plata County Administration Building, 1101 East Second Ave.
COGCC Director Jeff Robbins will provide an overview of the commission’s rulemaking required by Senate Bill 19-181 and take public comment.
SB 19-181 ensures oil and gas development and operations in Colorado are regulated in a manner that protects public health, safety, welfare, the environment and wildlife resources.
The COGCC is reviewing its rules and procedures to evaluate what changes are required to reflect the new law’s requirements.
COGCC’s next hearing will be held Feb. 26-27 and will focus on upcoming SB 19-181 rulemakings.
