Colorado Parks and Wildlife offers outdoor safety reminders

With seasoned recreationists and newcomers heading into the outdoors, Colorado Parks and Wildlife reminds people to enjoy outdoor activities responsibly.

Boating

Boat and watercraft operators must be at least 16 years old, or successfully complete the state’s Boating Safety Course if 14 or 15 years old. U.S. Coast Guard-approved safety equipment is required on all boats. Never operate any watercraft while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Boat owners must participate in mandatory state-certified boat inspections and purchase the ANS Stamp, and operators must retain the proof of purchase on his or her person, the motorboat or sailboat, when operating the vessel.

Living with wildlife
