Colorado Press Association will host a talk on developing relationships with legislators at 3 p.m. Friday online.

When legislation is proposed that undermines a free press or threatens the economic sustainability of an organization, it is important to have established relationships with legislators to educate them about the importance of media to the community and the everyday challenges of running a newsroom.

CPA lobbyists Angie Howes and Katie Wolf Perkins will offer advice about building those relationships before these potential issues arise. Several state legislators may join for part of the call as well.
