COLORADO SPRINGS – A Colorado town has honored a fallen Green Beret with a candlelight vigil after he was killed during combat in Afghanistan.
The Gazette reports that a crowd of more than 200 people stood outside a Falcon brewing company on Wednesday in honor of 40-year-old Sgt. Maj. James G. “Ryan” Sartor.
The Rev. Doug Brauner said the community came together for Sartor’s wife and three children to show their love and support, including members of a special forces motorcycle club.
Friends of Sartor say he was a leader and an example of what a man is supposed to be like.
Sartor was from Teague, Texas, and was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 10th Special Forces group in Fort Carson before his death last weekend.
