For all of you who work for a living, vote “no” on Amendment 69. If it is passed, you will not save money. The state of Colorado will collect 3.33 percent of your paycheck for years, and you still have to pay for your current health insurance plan until ColoradoCare collects billions and billions of dollars to initiate the plan, which is in part your tax money.
Additionally and immediately, your employer has to kick in 6.67 percent in the amount of your wages in employee payroll tax to Colorado Care. Those new taxes will harm the Colorado economy and cost jobs.
Incidentally, I received a phone call several months ago, and they said I should vote “yes” for Amendment 69. When I asked who sponsored it, he said, “They are a Colorado senator and someone from the East Coast.” I say, “What’s going on here?”
