Comfort Keepers offers emergency preparedness help

With fire season on the horizon, Comfort Keepers In-Home Care is offering emergency preparedness support to seniors through a grant from the Southwest Colorado Healthcare Coalition.

Trained staff members will provide 50 of their in-home care clients essential supplies and information that will be instrumental in the event of an emergency. Included are items such as water packets, a folding cane, lightsticks, a pill box and more. Also included will be documentation such as advanced directives, medication lists and family contact information. Staff members will spend time with each client providing education and discussing emergency preparedness including fire and fall safety, in addition to other emergency situations that may affect seniors.

For more information or to sign up as a client, call 515-7055.
