I’m glad readers are coming to the defense of The Durango Herald and free speech. When I was the Special Sections (magazine) editor for the paper several years ago, I remember letters accusing the Herald of a “liberal bias.” There were also letters calling the Herald a “conservative rag.” Go figure.
All of which should have been a clue for our fellow readers: If the Herald was being accused of being both liberal and conservative, the editors and the publisher must have had it right all along.
