I just learned that the county commissioners restored funding to Durango’s two branch libraries in Hesperus and Sunnyside. All I can say is, thank goodness and thank you!
I began work for the Southwest regional library system in the mid-80s. On my first day on the job, Durango Public Library services were cut off for county residents due to city/county funding request disagreements. We called the ensuing years the Library Wars. I don’t want to go back!
