Commissioners shouldn't close office

It seems that the county commissioners are playing political football with the closing of the Bayfield motor vehicle registration office.

We all know that to service a customer is more expensive than a kiosk. The office is being closed because of budget constraints, so they say. I suspect a lot of people will end up using the mail or drive to Durango rather than use a machine that is going to charge $3 for using it and a fee for checks or credit cards.

The drive to Durango is cheaper and no way am I paying more.

The bottom line is that I am NOT going to pay more to cover their budget shortfall by using the kiosk. Find another way to make more money commissioners, and we will remember this come next election.
