Communication at newspaper is lacking

On Aug. 17, I called the circulation department of The Durango Herald requesting a vacation stop on my subscription starting the morning of Aug. 20 (a Sunday – no paper anyway) and restarting the morning of Sept. 4 (a Monday).

I spoke with a nice lady who “entered” my request, then asked if I wanted to donate that portion to the newspapers in education program or just credit to my account. I told her to credit to my account.

I got home and found two weeks of newspapers scattered across my driveway.

Good job. I did notice that there was no Sept. 4 paper.

I’ve got to ask the carrier, “Didn’t you notice that the papers didn’t get picked up? Did you never think to check and see if there might be a vacation stop request? Why just litter the driveway with newspapers?”

Or is it that the inside office never passed the request along?

Does anyone want these two weeks of newspapers? Several are faded from the sun.
