The application period is open for nonprofit beneficiaries for the Community Foundation serving Southwest Colorado’s summer concert series at the Rochester Hotel. The deadline to apply is March 27.
The Community Concerts benefit 10 La Plata County nonprofits and promote the area’s local music scene from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays, June 17 through Aug. 19 in the Rochester’s Secret Garden. Proceeds are pooled and distributed equally. In 2019, each participating nonprofit earned $1,700 from the concert series.
To apply, click the “Grant Seekers” tab online at www.swcommunityfoundation.org. Applicants must be a nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization, or be a project or organization under the fiscal agency of a 501(c)(3) organization and must serve La Plata County. Previous recipients are not eligible to apply for three years. Selected organizations will be announced in May.
The bands scheduled to play are: Farmington Hill, June 17; Lost Souls, June 24; Void Where Prohibited, July 1; Kirk James Blues Band, July 8; The Badly Bent, July 15; Profetic Calaveras, July 22; Leah Orlikowski, July 29; Jeff Solon Jazz Trio, Aug. 5; Caitlin Cannon, Aug. 12; and People We Know, Aug. 19.
