Community Road Work Conditions

Community road work conditions for Wednesday, Sept. 4.

U.S. Highway 160 Eastbound/Westbound between Cortez and Towaoc (Milemarker 37-27).

Through October from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday there will be one lane alternating traffic for paving operations. Fifteen minute delays are possible.

The city of Durango Community Development Department’s fall construction of the Downtown Sidewalk Improvement Project has resumed. Construction is scheduled to begin on the 100 block of East 12 Street. East 12th Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from Main Avenue to the alley between Main and East Second avenues. Each side street will require approximately 2 weeks to complete. Construction will continue on the east side streets, moving south until reaching East 7th Street. The nortbound lane of state Highway 3 will be closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and most likely Thursday to allow the Colorado Department of Transportation to clear boulders from the base of the cliff on the east side of the road. Motorists headed for Animas Surgical Hospital or businesses on Sawmill Road or Rivergate Lane must access Highway 3 from Santa Rita Drive. Signs at the intersection of Highway 3 and U.S. Highway 550/160 near the High Bridge will alert motorists to the closure.
