I am supporting Ted Compton because he is a visionary and a coalition-builder.
When my late husband Ed first had the vision that Durango could be a mountain bike mecca, people thought he was crazy, but his vision was based on knowledge and experience and he had the fortitude to pursue it. In order to turn the vision into reality, he had to form coalitions by convincing others that the vision could be a reality, and he was very good at that.
Fast forward 50 years and Ed's vision is a reality. Mountain biking is not only thriving in Durango, it is a major economic driver for our local community.
I believe that Ted Compton can apply a similar skill set to La Plata Electric Association. Compton has the knowledge and experience to see a vision for the future of our energy supply, and he has the passion and connections to build the coalition needed to make that vision a reality. I support his campaign for LPEA.
