As a supporter of ColoradoCare becoming a reality, I am writing in regards to a concern I have recently heard. It seems some voters are raising concerns about supporting ColoradoCare because NARAL and Planned Parenthood have not.
NARAL and Planned Parenthood, I believe, need to consider becoming an enhancement to ColoradoCare for women’s health concerns beyond reproductive care. ColoradoCare, I feel, is a crucial step to having true universal health care, and I am in good company, as Gloria Steinem just last weekend endorsed ColoradoCare at the Boulder County Democratic Party “Weekend of Action.”
Steinem’s lifelong activism for women is a ringing endorsement for all women’s health and welfare. As for the concerns about TABOR, ColoradoCare supersedes any limitations, as it will receive waivers and enact plans under the federal Affordable Care Act requirements, which invite such innovations at our state level.
Please join me in voting for ColoradoCare.
