Concert to benefit BHS cheer team

The BHS Cheer team is going to nationals competition this spring in Anaheim, Calif. There will be a benefit concert by the Garrett Young Collective at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9 at the Bayfield Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $10 in advance from cheer members or the high school office, or $15 at the door.

The Garrett Young Collective includes Bayfield's born and raised Garrett Young on lead guitar and vocals and sister Callie Young on acoustic guitar and vocals. Other members are Mike Owens on drums and and Schyler Healy on bass. After returning from a three-week Texas tour in October, Garrett was recently awarded Entertainer of the Year and Favorite Crossover Artist of 2018 and Callie was awarded Favorite Country Single of 2018 from the Independent Music Network.

Garrett and Callie both played in Chevel Sheperd's Farmington concert on Jan. 26 with her band for the event, Wild Country.

The Garrett Young Collective blends original songs written by Garrett and Callie to produce unique live performance which explores the diverse breadth of their life experiences and stylistic influences of country, blues, and rock.
