Conference invites businesswomen

Women entrepreneurs are invited to attend the sixth annual Women’s Small Business Conference July 29 in the Student Union at Fort Lewis College.

Hands-on session to sharpen business skills will be offered. In addition, exhibitor tables, free one-on-one consulting and a breakout session on regional resources will be offered.

The keynote speaker will be Sylvia Theisen, who spent her career in residential real-estate sales and counseling employees of Fortune 500 companies. She is founder of She Takes the Lead, which provides training and coaching to women in business.

More than 340 female entrepreneurs from around the Four Corners are expected to participate.

Topics for breakout sessions include:

Opening doors to federal government contracting.

Knowing your numbers.

Knowing your business.

Exchanging ideas with Bethany Niccum.

Creating Wellness in the Workplace with Dr. Nicola St. Mary.

The full day of events includes breakfast, lunch and a networking reception.

The cost is $50, but some scholarships are available.
