Congrats. But it’s time to deflate these delusions of revolution.
Yeah, you really stuck it to those politically correct liberals by shaking Washington up with an outsider.
But Donald Trump is nothing new, just more extreme. Americans are never happy. Jimmy Carter was elected to bring change in the wake of Vietnam and Watergate. Bill Clinton was outside the establishment with the charisma and new ideas that George H.W. Bush lacked. George W. Bush was the newly minted Western good ol’ boy who was going to bring outside-the-beltway freedom for the common white man – and boy howdy did he. Huge tax cuts for the rich and multi-trillion-dollar invasions that put us underwater.
Your favorite punching bag Obama was elected because he was new and exciting and not the status quo GOP – not because he’s black – by an electorate tired of war and dime-store cowboys, only to find out how a new and black face would be greeted by the machine.
So now Trump is the answer? Sure, you can play the PC card and label the opposition “libs” and “snowflakes,” bad-mouth minorities, blow smoke with your diesel pickup, and destroy the environment, but word to the wise: he’s not your man.
He’s not going to fix things. Nothing he said means anything to him. He’s part of the problem with a catchy phrase on an outdated hat.
Trump is in D.C. to serve one person: Trump. And to him everyone else is inferior and there to serve him too.
We are soon going to find out just how much damage a president can do to our country, our working class, and our standing in the world.
But hey, congratulations; you really showed them.
