Dear Congress,
If you could find it in your heart to give us prohibitively expensive for-profit health care, tax breaks for the rich, hate-filled rhetoric, fewer national parks and monuments, more pollution, less education, a good trade war, unnecessary border walls, lead in our water, more extinctions and accelerated climate change, then we can finally make this country great.
One other thing, if I may. I grew up here and live a modest life in the hills west of Durango, a very peaceful and beautiful place. Please find a way to put an all-terrain vehicle trail and an oil well pad nearby – visible from the porch would be best. I hate fresh air and love the sounds and smells of oil drilling in the morning.
Now, I understand that this is a tall order, and you’re limited by what the Koch brothers and Goldman-Sachs will approve. But if you could find a way to deliver your agenda, then we can get over Obama and reduce our government of the people, by the people and for the people to a corrupt, privatized corporate plutocracy that cares little what we the people really need once and for all.
Thank you for your attention to these matters.
