The framework agreement reached by six world powers and Iran forms the basis for a historic nuclear deal that will prevent Iran from building a nuclear bomb.
Diplomacy is set to achieve what many thought impossible: stopping the spread of nuclear weapons to Iran. Opponents said Iran would never agree to freeze its nuclear program, let alone roll it back. Last week, they were proved wrong.
The alternative to a deal with Iran is war. Abandoning negotiations now would not only be a terrible moral failure, but a step backward for our security as well. Diplomacy is working, and we need Congress to support the negotiations.
