Our new Rep. Jeff Hurd has made sticking his head in the sand into an impressive art form.
Since he and Trump took office, he has said nothing about the massive illegal and brazen attempt by the president and his administration to ignore the law, the courts, Congress, and all of the constituents for who they claim to have a mandate.
He hides behind his staffers who say “he’s in Washington to represent the 3rd District and he’s not a rubber stamp for Trump.” So far, that’s exactly all he’s been and he shows no signs of wearing out from all the rubber-stamping.
He’s made a little dog and pony show in safe scarlet parts of his district, with even a cute mini-Trump signing of his first bill at a tiny desk, and has dutifully parroted the party’s propaganda.
It’s all for nothing and there are a whole lot of his constituents waiting for him to speak up for himself and them.
