Cooking up something good for Fiesta Days

Durango’s annual Fiesta Days will run through the weekend with rodeos, a parade and a chuck wagon cook-off.

Events will be held at the La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave., unless otherwise noted:

Saturday, 8:30 A.M.: Parade staging at Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Depot, 479 Main Ave.

Saturday, 10 a.m.: 82nd annual parade, from College Drive to 11th Street along Main Avenue.

Saturday, 1 P.M.: Second rodeo, with military appreciation.

Saturday, 5:30 P.M.: Chuck Wagon Cook-off and Barbecue. Cooking starts at 8 a.m. in shade of trees south of La Plata County Fairgrounds. Sponsored by La Plata Cattleman’s Association and Cow Belles.

Saturday, 6 p.m.: 2017 Queen coronation.

Saturday, 7 p.m.: Third rodeo, with breast cancer awareness presentation.

Sunday, 9 a.m.: Cowboy Church at fairgrounds grandstands.

Sunday, 9 a.m.: Pancake breakfast at Patio restaurant, 85 Goddard Ave., Ignacio. Sponsored by Ignacio FFA.

Sunday, 1 P.M.: Fourth rodeo, with championship event.
