Staff from the Bayfield Marshals Office and Upper Pine River Fire Protection District were collecting funds Oct. 22 for Susan G. Komen, which suppports research and community health efforts against breast cancer. Donations can be made online at passionatelypink.org by clicking on the "give to an event" tab, then in the event name field, type "badges against breast cancer." This is the second year the marshal's office has collected funds for the breast cancer charity, and they hope to make it an annual event with Upper Pine staff. They raised $1,100 last week.
