The Southwest Colorado Council of Governments (SWCCOG), La Plata County, City of Durango, and towns of Bayfield and Ignacio are kicking off a series of meetings to gather input for region-wide broadband planning. The goal of this process is to develop a plan that fully leverages the current infrastructure and improves the availability of high speed internet services throughout the region. We are asking for your input, along with that of all internet users - businesses, professionals, health and community service providers, educators, government officials, citizens, internet service providers, and legislative representatives - to ensure comprehensive internet development. Our primary goals are to maximize broadband availability and cost savings, while taking full advantage of available funding opportunities.
Meetings will be held at the La Plata County Administration Building at 1101 E. 2nd Ave. Durango CO
Tuesday, April 12
Business leaders, 9 to 10:30 a.m.
Internet service providers, 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Education and library professionals, 1 to 2:30 p.m.
Healthcare providers and medical community, 2:45 to 4:15 p.m.
Local government representatives, 4:30 to 6 p.m.
Public, 6:45 to 7:45 p.m.
