La Plata County staff will hold a public meeting to gather input on the county's 2017 budget at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, in the board room at County Administration Building, 1101 E. Second Ave. in Durango.
During the meeting, the county manager and county finance director will present the county's current financial position, the Board of County Commissioners' priorities for the coming year, and the direction the county is heading in creating a budget for 2017 that reflects those priorities and supports the needs of our community. Following the presentation will be an opportunity for public input on the development of the 2017 budget.
"Citizens' input is highly valued and we look forward to hearing from the residents of La Plata County regarding their ideas and suggestions as we begin to develop the 2017 county budget," said County Manager Joe Kerby.
Those unable to attend who would like to provide input may email suggestions, comments or concerns to CountyAdmin@co.laplata.co.us.
