La Plata County is offering free wood mulch that will be loaded into vehicles and trailers from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 29 at Bayfield Convenience Center, 4496 County Road 223.
Attendees should remain in their vehicles at all times while loading is in progress. For those who want to cover their mulch load, there will be space to pull forward and away from other cars at the loading area.
The Bayfield Convenience Center accepts dry, brown yard waste such as tree trimmings, slash and tree trunks. These materials are periodically mulched and offered to residents free of charge.
No new yard waste will be accepted on loading day.
