Creating a flap(jack)

Jeovanna Rios, a sophomore chemistry major at Fort Lewis College, came really close to successfully flipping her Mickey Mouse-shaped pancake Thursday at the Kiwanis Club of Durango’s 58th annual Pancake Day at the La Plata County Fairgrounds. Rios, a catcher and infielder with the FLC softball team, was among the many volunteers for the event that will benefit several local charities. At left is Kiwanis Club member John Gamble.
