Barbara Belanger, who wrote, “Herald owes runners apology”, (Letters, Herald, Oct. 22) hit the nail on the head. It should be noted, that a vast majority of the team was not involved in the incident that has been pervasive in the news. However, no one has mentioned that these students and coaches are indeed a team. Thus, they took it upon themselves, innocent or guilty, to deal with the issues head on, not laying blame on the guilty but generating a plan to prevent this from happening again.
I, for one, am proud that my daughter is a member of this wonderful team of kids and adults who are working to make all the sports programs at DHS better.
