The Colorado State University Extension Office in La Plata County will accept applications for the 2018 Colorado Master Gardener program through Dec. 31.
The 12-week series will start Jan. 25 at La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave. Education experts will train students in tree care, vegetables, soils, native plants, water-wise gardening, pruning and more.
Cost is $170 for those who volunteer, and $530 without volunteering time.
The training is the equivalent to a four credit-hour course.
