And another one bites the dust!
According to your article, The Pine River Times will no longer be a newspaper we can actually hold in our hands, read at leisure and enjoy the reporting by Melanie Mazur! (“Pine River Times print edition to transition to online,” Jan. 15)
Oh sure, go online and do everything – some of the faithful followers of the Times do not even have computers so they are left out in the cold!
You mention the money factor: Of course, we all know it takes subscriptions, advertisers, etc., to keep a paper up and running.
Here is a novel idea: How about cutting one day of the Herald off and printing the Times; it is a better read anyway.
Joel Priest does an excellent job reporting and Melanie is one of the best.
Just keep in mind who your subscribers are!
